Thank you for stopping by and allowing me to introduce myself. I’m Bruce Wouters, running for Jax Beach City Council, At Large Seat 1. I’m asking for your help.

Our dedicated Police Chief recently asked, “What do we want our downtown to be?” This raises the broader question: What do we want the whole of Jax Beach to be? A big-growth beach town like Daytona or Miami? Or a place with the charm and community feel of Neptune or Atlantic? I am for the latter!

As a long-time resident of Jax Beach, I care about our community and want to see it keep its small-town vibe. I am not a professional politician with a long list of resume fillers.

I spent 17 years teaching in local public schools, including 8 years at Fletcher High School.  While at Fletcher, I had the honor of sponsoring the  State Champion Mock Trial Team created by my friend, the late great Ed Lang (I was trained as an attorney).

I often substitute teach at San Pablo, Jax Beach Elementary, and Seabreeze schools. I have been a regular attendee and volunteer at Beaches Church for decades. I have also raised thousands of dollars for the Jax Humane Society and love animals.

Let's Protect Our Beach Life!

MY PRIORITIES

  • Significant Crime Reduction.

  • Easing of Traffic Congestion.

  • Responsible Development.

  • More transparency / resident-focused.

  • Saving our schools

MY MOTIVATION TO SERVE

  •   Seeing a fine old tradition, the Volunteer Life Saving Corps, kicked out and treated poorly;

  •   Learning a Height Amendment was being considered, which could mean more congestion and crime;

  •   Being told that the Adventure Landing rezoning for 416 housing units will not create more congestion.

What do you want Jax Beach to be?

I would love to hear from you and promise to listen with an open mind.

I am just an average guy with nothing to gain but a better community for us and the coming generations. I am asking for your support and vote!

Together, we can Protect Our Beach Life!

Bruce
